Good morning, my fellow Miamians 🦩

**🇺🇸 Disability activists at the Capitol Crawl, March 12, 1990, four months before the ADA became law.**

The Americans with Disabilities Act turns 36 on Sunday. Signed into law on July 26, 1990, it's the reason there's a ramp at the school entrance and a right to your kid's IEP a school can't wave off. Miami-Dade marks it today at the Stephen P. Clark Center from 11am to 2pm.

The rest of the weekend: Mark Twain's jumping frogs at the library, UM inclusive soccer camp, the FAMFEST back-to-school bag drive, Pathway to Possibilities in North Miami, and Christmas in July at Miami Children's Museum.

So today's the day to plan your weekend, because a lot of it only happens once a year, and if you miss it, you're waiting until 2027.

Friday 11am - 2pm: 36th Annual ADA Celebration at Stephen P. Clark Center. Hosted by the Miami-Dade ADA Office, marking 36 years of the Americans with Disabilities Act, with live entertainment from the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind Youth Band. FREE. 111 NW 1st Street.

Friday 12pm-1pm & 5pm-8pm: ADA Celebration at Shake-A-Leg Miami. The midday session covers the history of the Americans with Disabilities Act and camper performances. The evening session brings boating, a BBQ, and performances. 2620 South Bayshore Drive, Coconut Grove

Saturday 11am: Basquiat at Pérez Art Museum. A family tour of works by Jean-Michel Basquiat. Kids create their own Basquiat-inspired canvases, and Storytime is a reading of Maya Angelou's "Life Doesn't Frighten Me". 1103 Biscayne Boulevard. Free with RSVP

Saturdays 10am - 2pm: We Can Sail at Shake-A-Leg Miami Inclusive sailing, and waterfront activities for all experience levels. 2620 S Bayshore Dr, Coconut Grove
