β™Ώ Miami-Dade Disability & Autism Newsletter 🧩 Monday September 21

β™Ώ Miami-Dade Disability & Autism Newsletter 🧩

Good morning, my fellow Miamians 🦩

FIU opens today with 2 days on turning disability research into real change, and MDCPS has a Transition Services parent series running monthly through May for families with a middle or high schooler on an IEP. If adulthood planning has been sitting on your list, this is the season it starts moving.

Then the weekend takes over. Friday, MOCA turns 30 and throws a free family festival with art for every age. Saturday, St. Jude walkers take over the fairgrounds at sunrise and the Harvest Moon rises over a bonfire in Homestead. Sunday closes out September with a cancer walk on the sand and the final day of Pop Air, so if the giant balloons are still on your family's list, this is the weekend the list runs out.

Today's Edition Includes

  1. Transition Services: Parent Series 2026 - 2027
  2. This Week’s Events Calendar
  3. September's Events Calendar
  4. Ongoing Weekly & Monthly Events Calendar
  5. Events Further Out to Plan Ahead For
